impacting lives on and off the course
Over the past several decades, he has had the privilege of speaking to small groups and large conventions all over the world. Wally uses his experience on the course and his walk with Christ to create a space where learning leads to God's great love.
ABOUT
A lifetime of golf
Golf has played a defining role in Wally's life since childhood. Growing up in Indiana, his introduction to the game began when he found a golf ball in a nearby cornfield and sold it over a fence to golfers on a local course. This moment he often jokes was the beginning of his career as a golf entrepreneur.
From there, his journey progressed from caddie to junior golfer, collegiate player, and ultimately professional golfer. As a professional, Wally spent ten years on the PGA Tour, tied for fifth at his rookie Masters, played countless practice rounds with renowned golfers such as Gary Player. Wally reached golf's highest level, competing on the PGA Tour. Throughout his career, he played in more than 300 tournaments around the world and earned a lifetime membership on tour.
Following his competitive playing career, Wally dedicated himself to introducing more children and families to the game he loves. Through instructional books, videos, innovative training aids, and golf equipment, he has helped countless golfers discover the game and continue growing in both skill and enjoyment.
For more information, and a personal, indepth look at Wally Armstrong’s life, watch his hour long interview with Links for Life. There, he talks of his love of the game while also opening up about a moment in 2004 that ended 34 years of trying to earn God's approval. This single moment reframed his faith around walking with Jesus instead of working for him.
ABOUT
Sharing the knowledge
Teaching golf has been one of the most rewarding aspects of Wally Armstrong's career. Throughout the years, he has conducted countless private lessons, group programs, clinics, and instructional events for golfers of all ages and skill levels.
For Wally, the greatest reward is seeing a student's face light up when a new concept finally clicks. Whether working with a beginner picking up a club for the first time or an experienced player looking to elevate their game, he is passionate about making golf understandable, enjoyable, and accessible to everyone.
This passion led Wally to create "The Ultimate Golf Lesson," an innovative instructional experience that combines personalized coaching with on-course learning. Hosted at premier venues in Florida, including Winter Park Country Club, the program allows golfers to learn directly from Wally in a relaxed and engaging environment.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND DEDICATION
Above all, Wally believes golf should be fun. His clinics and lessons are known for blending practical instruction with enthusiasm, encouragement, and a genuine love for the game. Through every lesson, he strives to help golfers play with greater confidence, discover new possibilities in their swing, and enjoy the game for years to come.
“The key is that Jesus does want to speak to us, to you, today. In your own language, just as a friend would speak. We simply need to take the time to listen.”
— Wally Armstrong
